John Wall Videos

John Wall, as any self-respecting college basketball fan knows, is the freshman phenom point guard for the Kentucky Wildcats.  Kentucky is currently playing at 15-0, led by the freakishly good Wall, who is averaging 17.2 points per game, 4 rebounds a game, and 7.5 assists per game.  He has already set a few records, and is poised to set many more.  He set the single game assist record, with 16, in his 14th game at UK, and won the SEC Freshman of the Week four weeks in a row for the first four weeks of his Freshman year. Wall's most recent heroics came Saturday when he raised it up a notch and laid the smack down on the flthy Cards of Louisville.  And of course, as everyone knows, he started a new craze at UK, known as the John Wall Dance.

And yes, The John Wall Dance has caught on, proving once and for all that the line between Nerd and Cool is simply athletic prowess.  The dance, which is admittedly easy to do and kind of fun to watch, is the signature dance of UK fans everywhere now.

Site Update:  This was forwarded to me and is simply awesome!  Now everybody can do the John Wall Dance.  Be sure to send this to as many Kentucky fans as you can!

One of Wall's many, many nicknames is "The Great Wall," so it was only a matter of time before a UK fan made it to the Great Wall of China and did the John Wall Dance on it.  Other nicknames that Wall has gotten - and I have no idea who designated these or how many people say them, I'm just referring to Wikipedia - are The Messiah's Son, J-Wall, J-Weezy, God, and the People's Champ.  I seriously doubt that many people refer to him as God, as you'd think there's be some communication mix-up there, but hey, I'm not a UK fan or a theologian.

For those of you who need more of the John Wall Dance, check out this video of American Idol winner John Wall doing the Wall Dance:

With Wall leading the way, Kentucky has gotten within two wins of 2,000 All-Time wins, the first NCAA Team to ever reach that mark (unless, of course, they don't win their two games before North Carolina wins another 8, but with the momentum they've got going right now, that looks fairly unlikely).   Wall came to UK earlier this year after graduating from the Word of God High School in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he was consistently ranked by NCAA scouts as one of the best players in the country, thanks to his crazy speed and his ability to move the ball.  Here are some of the highlights of John Wall's senior year of high school:

Wall made a splash on his very first game for the Wildcats when he shot a buzzer beater against the Miami Redhawks with half a second left in the game.  Here are some John Wall videos of highlights from his different games:

Wall's games have re-energized the UK fan base, and have given the team visions of glory in this year's March Madness NCAA basketball tournament.  Walls games are always impressive.  His lowest score in a game so far has been 9 points, and this was in the game where he broke the assist record.

Wall's totally unreal speed has also given him the ability to dunk like pretty much no other point guard ever.  He's been dunking left and right against all of the teams they've been playing, and it has an excellent effect on team morale.

Wall, for the most part, has had a stable career at UK, with the exception of an exhibition game suspension for receiving travel benefits from an agent, and for a breaking and entering charge he was hit with last Spring while still in high school.  Wall was caught leaving an abandoned house with a couple of friends by the police.  The police say there was no sign of forced entry or that anything had been stolen, so it was more or less dismissed as high school kids messing around.  And really, who cares when you can do this:

Wall is technically eligible for the 2010 NBA Draft, but has said that he will not be putting his name out for the draft this year. He is probably going to spend another year at UK, racking up points and records, before going off to the NBA.  Most recruiters suspect that Wall will easily be the number 1 draft pick when he finally does choose to become eligible for the 2010 draft.  On average, Wall plays 35 minutes a game, and scores 17.1 points (it would be 18.1 if not for the low point number during the game he got the 16 assists).  He usually gets 4 rebounds a game and 7.1 assists, and generally about a block every two games.  His field goal percentage is .540, his three point percentage is .368, and his awesome level is somewhere around 10.

John Wall is getting LeBron James buzz, considering just how good he is.  Scouting reports from high school suggest that Wall had freakish speed, but was still an unrefined player, mostly relying on his unbelievable speed and 2 point abilities to make him a serious player.  It seems that time spent at UK is starting to make him a more refined player, and it would appear that in the next year or two at UK, he'll be breaking every record the school and the NCAA has to offer him.  This could boost the pay he gets in the NBA significantly, as compared to what he would have been making if he'd gone straight from high school.  Also, the NBA really isn't the best place to learn basketball.  So it's probably a smart move for Wall to be sticking around for a while, to hone his skills and make him a force worthy of the comparisons to LeBron Jams.  He's certainly living up to the considerable hype that surrounds him, but we'll see if he is able to keep it going at the same rate of improvement - and without injuring himself before he hits the NBA.

Regardless, it's clear that Wall and the 2009-2010 UK Wildcats are a force to be reckoned with, and we'll all have to keep tuned in for the craziness that inevitably ensues when John Wall sets his foot on the court.
